Eggleston Dorsey Wayland Eggleston, 87, of King's Grant Retirement Community, Mar- tinsville, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C. He was born Axton on in Eggleston March 5, 1921, to Dorsey Minter Eggleston and Carrie Lena Skates Eggleston. He graduated from Axton High School and Perry Busi-. ness College, and retired from American Furniture where he was head of the cost accounting department for more than 40 years.

He was a member of Stanleytown United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Adkins Eggleston of the residence at King's Grant; two stepdaughters, Arlene S. Dunn of Martinsville and Linda S. Stone of Bassett; three brothers, Carl Eggleston of Axton, Jud Eggleston of Martinsville and Clore Eggleston of Richmond; four CALENDAR step-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.
