Yesterday I had the honour of completing the Film and TV production supply chain innovation course, run by the Royal College of Art and @Estu. We had our final session at Sky Studios Elstree where we pitched our ideas to 2 representatives from Sky as well as the Hertfordshire Film Office . What an event: there were some truly incredible ideas and I was honoured and inspired by the tutors, speakers and fellow students. Special thank yous to Nick de Leon Madelaine Dowd Tim Corvin Simon Littlewood Pippa Cawdron Lauren Christy and Adam Morley for their input and inspiration and to the fellow graduates of whom I am in total awe! #inspiration #innovation

Spoiler alert: I am using AI more and more. However I have learnt that there are key communication points needed to get the best results. AND this also applies to when we are communicating with others in business conversations. I share some reasons why. #AI #communication #leadershipskills

Last week I was honoured to be interviewed for a Fireside Chat as part of the Lundbeck Leadership Launch as part of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association. Launching leadership programmes is such an important part of the process; it is so exciting for everyone to be starting a new programme. I was asked so many challenging questions about my career and things I had learnt along the way.Michelle Ll. Estonilo who invited me to be interviewed said: "Thank you very much for leading our Fireside Chat yesterday. Your energy is impactful and motivating for all Ambassadors!" One that resonated for many people was the "If you get an offer like that, you don't turn it down". This was what my singing teacher at the time (I had been learning for 6 months) told me when I was offered the female lead in an Off Broadway production of The Pajama Game. I had auditioned for the Chorus! It is so easy to say "I'll think about it", or "I don't know if I can do it!" The door could close before you know it!I wish all of the talented ambassadors for the leadership programme all the best of luck - and enjoy the process! #success #courage #inspiration #leadership

Yesterday I was delivering a Break the Bias virtual masterclass to the fabulous Bedford and Milton Keynes Insurance Institute community. This isn't about telling people off but understanding that we all have biases; why we have them; how we can become aware of our own biases; what an impact these make on our decision making. But also what we could do to make conscious decisions and to question our decision making. This is always a controversial topic which brings up a range of opinions. However we all went away with new ways to look at the world. This topic is available as a masterclass, virtual masterclass, facilitated workshop and keynote speech. Do contact me for more details #breakthebias #makebetterdecisions #leadershipdevelopment

What a brilliant Live conversation with Karen Eber 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟱 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 👇1 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: "The secret of storytelling is it doesn't begin with the story or the idea. It always begins with the audience that you're telling it to." 2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: "But for some reason, we get into business settings or more formal settings, and we feel like we have to talk in a business tone, and we have to be very structured, and we take away a little bit of our humanity. And that's when we should be telling them." 3. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: "Your brain lets you experience things that you have never had before... that's only when a story is told really well." 4. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: "Hacking the art of storytelling becomes these choices that you make for what am I doing to engage that audience's brain, but also be really thoughtful about what I'm having them feel and when I'm doing it so that it's almost a Jedi mind trick of I've now pulled them into my story, and they didn't even realize they weren't coming here." 5. On Saturday my husband and I went to the Andre Rieu concert in London and were treated to an evening of joy, happiness and being part of a community. The arena was packed with people of all ages - although in fairness, most of the audience were more mature. The audience were all smiling, a number of them singing along and so many people danced the waltz when The Blue Danube was played. It was wonderful to experience. Andre Rieu is a genius: he understands his audience and what brings them joy. The musicians he works with - mainly female by the way - all wear beautiful evening dresses; the music is familiar with many favourites (like the Blue Danube); programmed to be a party; a few funny gags like a Bull coming into the arena and chasing a lady; balloons. But visually it was also a treat with colourful background screens. We were transported to Europe! The reason why I mention this is that Rieu knows what people want and delivers. The whole experience is memorable and for that 90 minutes you feel special. Do you really understand what your audience or client really wants? Is the experience memorable for them? Do they leave working with you, with a smile on their face? What could you do to have the "Rieu" effect on them? I would love to know your ideas for this. #andrerieu #happiness #livemusic
