On October 18th I celebrated 2 year work anniversary. I planned to write something inspiring about my accomplishments of my last two years but I want to focus on the last 2 weeks: - controlling emotions: me joining a zoom meeting, pausing for a siren and being able to switch back to business;- managing two teams: one at work and one at home, consisting of a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy.- remaining focused and on track: me conducting a presentation while my little one cheerfully turned his mealtime into a colorful spectacle to capture my attention. - training a lot on taking the right priorities: whether it is cooking a meal/taking a shower/cleaning apartment during my lunch break;- staying professional: refraining from tuning into media, news, or social networks during work hours to shield myself from any updates about additional kidnapped or killed civilians, some of whom may be familiar faces. I love my job and value the opportunities it brings. And I am grateful I a have a different reality I can switch into where the war is not happening. I want to show how incredibly strong we are because what I described above is happening to almost each family in Israel today. Nothing will break us. I stand with Israel.

Happy 6-month work anniversary to me! 🎉Can't believe how quickly time flies when you're learning and growing! Here are some updates on my journey:1. Exciting news! I was honored with a 2023 Performance Recognition Award for my hard work and dedication. 2. I've been honing my PowerPivot and data skills in Excel, and it's been an enlightening journey. 3. I've been immersed in our ERP system and have made significant strides in becoming proficient in it. 4. Creating meaningful relationships has been a highlight for me. Building strong connections with colleagues and partners has been incredibly rewarding. 5. Gaining insight into the operational workings of a larger company, especially in a new industry, has been invaluable. It's given me a clearer perspective on how to drive positive change. Here's to more challenges, more growth, and more achievements in the next six months and beyond! 🚀

Yesterday, LinkedIn was kind enough to remind me of my work anniversary. It made me think of many of the mentors I’ve had, the people my career has given me the privilege to meet and the people Ive had the great fortune of working along side. It also made me think of the challenges our industry faced when I entered, compared to the challenges industry sees today. Staffing shortfalls, accessibility through the introduction of social media, expectations, inflationary pressures, supply chain hurdles on parts and product, and a continued reliance on strong teams making strong decisions!I also pondered our wins. Succession of people promoting growth and development, the introduction of new technologies, evolving contracts, that feeling of satisfaction of reopening a highway following a lengthy closure, or repairing that washout, simply coming to the aid of someone broke down on the side of the road, or being awarded a new contract in a fascinating new part of our Province. Most importantly seeing our staff get the wins! All successes! As I’ve found my way through my career path, I circle back to the fact that our biggest successes occur when our teams come together, whether that team is our staff, our partners at the Ministry, our subcontractors, our providers or any group in the extensive chain of resources we rely on daily.I want to personally thank everyone who’s supported and assisted me through my career. I’m humbled by the fact that no matter the challenge I/we face, there is an amazing network of people throughout our industry that will always stop, listen and help.If you’ve ever thought about whether the highways maintenance industry is a career for you, explore the opportunities!Stay safe, stay well!✌️

What a wild ride so far. I just celebrated my 9 year anniversary here commonsku. I think work anniversary's are funny. Thank yous and praise for staying somewhere. Likely because we are in a job market where people pop from one company to another, climbing the company directories by changing location. But not me, I've always been here. The question I get asked by far the most when I interview people for my department is "why". Again, to me this is funny. I work in a place that allows me to be my sarcastic, honest and sometimes stubborn self. A place that supports me professionally and personally. Where I am trusted in my decisions, opinions and thoughts. I am allowed to make mistakes, celebrate wins and (what I tell everyone in interviews) I don't need to pretend to be someone else between 9 and 5. Maybe I get asked because it is rare to find a place that does this. But that's the reason I should be saying thank you. This isn't meant to be a sappy post or telling you all how awesome my job, my coworkers, my bosses and my customers all are. I don't write my thoughts out often, but I feel like this is owed. A thank you from me to all of those people I just mentioned for allowing me to be here for 9 years, allowing me to be successful, trusting in me and making my work something I legitimately love to do. 9 years is just the start of my journey here. And I'm pumped to see what I can do in the next 9.

10 Year AnniversaryToday I celebrate my 10 year work anniversary with some Tiff's Treats Cookie Delivery chocolate chip cookies from my team. As I reflect back on the last 10 years, it has been quite a ride. There have been ups, downs and all-arounds. The revenue targets discussed in my interview have been blown out of the water. I’ve worked with and continue to work with some great people. My job today doesn’t look like the original plan, but isn’t that part of the fun?Everyone has a plan ‘til they get punched in the mouth. - Mike Tyson We’ve all been “punched in the mouth” a time or ten. 😀 Keeping an attitude that creates opportunities out of obstacles is what separates success from failure. One thing that stays consistent…I try to be better today than I was yesterday. I plan to be better tomorrow than I was today. Keeping that attitude is harder on some days than on others. Learning that the journey IS THE DESTINATION is one of the small things that keeps me motivated. Mark NicholsonHere’s to 10 more years! 🙂 #anniversary#10years#growth #servicepros

🎉 Celebrating 18 Years of Dedication 🎉Thank you for the well wishes for my 18th work anniversary! As I reflect over the time #Heartlanddental the word that comes to mind is longevity. Perhaps not as popular today but I’m thankful for it. Over the past 18 years, I’ve learned that longevity offers numerous benefits:Continual Growth: Staying committed to a company allows personal and professional growth that shapes us into resilient, adaptable, and knowledgeable individuals.Building Trust: Longevity fosters trust and loyalty, creating a solid foundation for long-term relationships with colleagues and customers.Organizational Knowledge: Accumulating experience equips us to provide guidance and support to newer team members, contributing to a cohesive team and sustained culture. Adaptability: Longevity helps us adapt to changes within our organization and industry, making us indispensable assets.Achieving Long-Term Goals: Longevity provides stability and a foundation to pursue ambitious goals.I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities, growth, and experiences that these 18 years with #HeartlandDental have brought me. Cheers to the power of longevity and the potential it holds for personal and professional growth!

🥳 WORK ANNIVERSARY 🥳3 years ago I started this job, and when 3 years could seem not much in one's work life, those 3 past years were very radical on my side.As the video shows, I started as a simple junior 'on my own' with no one to manage and the team quickly grew to manage over 10 people today (missing some people on the video!)If I have to look back over these three years, 3 words come to mind: challenging, teaching and out of my comfort zone.Over and above my team-leading and recruitment skills, these three years have taught me 'life' skills that have helped me in both my professional and personal life:1️⃣ Knowing how to take advice and, above all, applying it without questioning it and trusting experienced people;2️⃣ On the other hand, questioning yourself on a weekly or even daily basis;3️⃣ Being open-minded about the opinions of others and the situations in which people may find themselves;4️⃣ And finally, working in an 'agile' way and knowing that no situation is fixed and that you have to adapt to change; In short, 3 great enriching years in which I came across wonderful people as well! Big shout out to the best team for following me in my ideas of video 😂and for making these 3 years go by so quickly, thanks to all those daily laughs!
