Hello all and welcome to Marca English's live blog of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight!
This fight has been years in the making, and many consider it a shame that it took so long to make. Fans wanted to see these two face each other at the top of their games. They are both still in great shape despite Tyson Fury being 35 years old and Oleksandr Usyk coming in at 37 years old.
Fury comes in with a 34-0-1 record, with his only blemish being a split decision draw against Deontay Wilder in the first fight of their trilogy. Fury ended up stopping Wilder in the next two fights.
Fury is the current betting favorite, but he does come in with some question marks. His last fight, against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, saw the Gypsy King get knocked down in stunning fashion.
Usyk, on the other hand, knocked out Daniel Dubois in his last fight in August. It wasn't without controversy, as Usyk was knocked down with a low blow that many consider he play-acted on.
Before the Dubois fight, Usyk took down Anthony Joshua two times in a row, first by unanimous decision and then by split decision. The first win over Joshua earned Usyk unified champion status, which he subsequently defended.
