I went golfing today ⛳ . Here's what it taught me about B2B sales: Nothing. Took the day off, went golfing with a good friend of mine. Pure bliss. We caught up on life and his new single (link in comments).Yesterday though, we sat down with a competitor's customer to discuss how we could help... How?I often look over Trustpilot reviews and try to get a sense of 'employer of record' user experiences.I came across a competitor's review citing; "lack of urgency in service", "platform isn't user friendly", and "challenging experience".Sure, booking a meeting with them would be a win in terms of target, but that doesn't mean anything without actually helping them.I genuinely know that Oyster® can help their day-to-day, and solve for the frustrations that their team is going through. I reached out to the person who posted the review, their colleague booked a sit-down with us.48 hours later, we're now in pricing discussions. Whether or not they become our partner is irrelevant.Don't reach out just to book a meeting. Reach out to help, provide value, and help solve for people's frustrations... the rest will work itself out. Stay genuine. Be transparent.

You're laid off, out of a job, feel like nothing is clicking. I've been there. 1 year and 2 months without any offers presented to me. It sucks. It's draining, it's demoralizing. Truly, I get it.You might feel like there's nothing else to give. Not true. You have the 1 superpower that many people start to lose when they start winning (happened to me too)... HUNGER.When that opportunity comes, and it will, I promise you it will... the differentiator you have isn't your knowledge, skills, education - all those can be developed over time. It's your willingness to learn, to make mistakes, to grow, your sense of urgency to make things happen, and how you treat people.Stay hungry. Be kind.

Today, I'm kickin' it with this sweet angel, and reflecting on the past 2 months at Oyster®.Finished Onboarding on April 9. Went live on April 10. May 8 - hit my quarter ramp target. Today - 172%.Personal goal by end of quarter (June 30) - 250% +3 things that I do every single day that I feel have been helping me:🪨 No lead left unturned- If there is a 1% chance that we can help an employee or employer, I’ll dig internally until I find the right person/ solution for it or until I’m 100% sure that we are unable to support it then communicate it.🤔 Being genuine, and curious - I can help you better if I understand your needs, and the root pain- “You mentioned you’re looking to hire in country x, how are you currently supporting your other global employees?, Why in country x specifically?”- “How has that experience been?”- “If you could change anything about your current experience, what would it be?” - "What's the impact if you don't solve this, what's important to you?"🙏 Transparency with potential partners from our first interaction - If I know I won’t be able to solve your use case, I’ll let you know upfront and either refer you to someone who can or point you in the right direction even if that may mean it may not be with us. Building solid and true relationships demands trust and support.➕ Bonus (fine... 4 things)- If I’m on a call and someone is hesitant for next steps/ wants to "think it over", this is what I say… “I have a proposal for you. Why don’t we set up a placeholder 30 minutes on x day at x time. Meanwhile, let me send you a few resources on what it looks like to hire in x country, including the *highlight a*, *highlight b*, and *highlight c*. If you don’t find value in any of the information I’m sending , no worries, we can cancel the call but it’s on the calendar, and can use that time to go over your employment goals with a personalized Oyster walkthrough".What's working for me now, may not work for me tomorrow. Open to hearing what works for you...

432 days. 299 workdays. 2 layoffs. Countless applications. Over 200 interviews. 18 final rounds, including case studies. It quickly became comical. It’s been quite the ride. Comical and Tough. Really Tough. We get laid off, come to LinkedIn, and post “I’ve learned a lot during the last year” or “It’s been a great experience”. Cut the fluff. Let’s get real. It hasn’t.Resilience building? 100%, but it's challenging, draining, and at times downright discouraging. What I've truly learned is that this job market is tougher than ever, at least for me. Standing out isn't just important; it's essential. It's about actively immersing yourself in the role you want, especially while you're searching. After facing rejection more times than I can count, self-doubt starts to creep in. Maybe I'm not good enough. Maybe I need more experience. Maybe I need to work harder. It's a humbling experience. Blaming external factors won't get us anywhere. Taking ownership of our journey will. You’re laid off, you feel discouraged, rejected, upset… So, what's next? Well, you have choices:▪Keep doing what you've been doing. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.▪Put aside your pride, seek help, and grow; Here’s who helped me, who I genuinely want to thank; Fabian Ulett (your continued mentorship is invaluable and appreciated), Unbounded community (You know who you are and why), Better Career community (Yuji and Mattie; you're building a community of growth-minded people to help move their careers forward), Lindsay Moorcroft and Abby R. (Sending me countless referrals, introductions, roles in 2023), Moe Reza (Thanks for all your help in 2023)▪Tap into your network. I've met so many good people. Maybe the journey is the most important thing after all.▪Pivot. Yes. It's okay to take a step back before moving forward. I’m pivoting from Product to Sales, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Oyster® - Here I come. Thanks for supporting the pivot Gia Cantillana, Shikha Bindra, Tii Ricks.Let's keep pushing forward, supporting each other along the way....and Happy Nowruz ❤️. 'Now' 'ruz' means 'New' 'Day'. Here's to every new day ahead. Here's to the pivot. Here's to those who refuse to give up, who see setbacks as opportunities for growth. Keep going.

Got called crazy by city of Toronto employees doing maintenance at Cherry beach, but that’s what it’s about right? Being crazy and obsessed with a few things in life and doing them relentlessly.🤔 thoughts:- these edits are fun to create- reflection in the 3-5 minute dips are priceless- cold water is never easy to get into- every single day is unique, your body reacts differently, your mind more soDay 73/ 100. Keep going.

Out with the bar outings. In with workshops, wellness events, short-sweet retreats.Out winter retreat is for both cold-curious newbies and veteran polar enthusiasts, offering guided primal therapy sessions, which bring attendees from a bone-chilling two- to four-minute lake plunge to a fire-heated barrel sauna.

100 day cold challenge. Why? Pushing my limit edge. Building resilience. Finding enjoyment in doing a hard thing. Does the 100 days matter? No. It’s just a number.Does the journey of doing it regardless of how you feel matter? Yes. Why? It’s 6AM, it’s cold out. 🧠: f*ck that. Are you out of your mind?🧠: Yes… and you made a commitment. Make it happen. You know what I’m talking about… “I really don’t want to do it, but I do it anyway”Unbounded

2023 was the toughest professional year of my career. In contrast, it was also the most fulfilling year of my life, personally. I found my tribe... my community... my people. My journey at Unbounded which started as a volunteer in cold exposure and contrast therapy, has developed into being part of a community that shares a similar lust for life, authenticity, personal growth, and living a healthier - more optimal life (something we can all easily forget to do). 2024 is the year where I find as many of my limit edges as I can... and there doesn't seem to be a more worthwhile endeavor to dedicate your life to than to see what you’re capable of. I'm excited to start this new journey in leading biz-dev, partnerships, and growth at Unbounded; to support people's need to live a more healthy, optimal, and connected life.Science, and knowledge around tools for a healthier, optimal life are growing rapidly with the rise of the likes of Andrew Huberman. Workshops and experiences are not growing at the same rate and the wellness industry in its current state is largely inaccessible. I want to help with that.If you're looking for a new way to build cohesion and connection, host retreats, and try new experiences/ workshops for your teams, let's chat. Lisa Marie Kricfalusi Nick McNaught Thomas Argueta Thank you for the opportunity 🖤
